Jim Abourezk responds to the AL’s Sunday editorial basically calling Jim a supporter of MidEast terror. I expected a response out of Jim, and it was classic. It seems as of late the AL is attacking citizens and politicians who are dissenters. It seems when someone wants to put forth truthful debate the AL attacks them. None of the facts that Jim put forth in his interview with Kranz were untrue. When newpapers are not willing to defend the truth where do we turn? Must be something in the water on the corner of 10th and Minnesota.

The AL reviewed the new Sushi place in Sioux Falls; Tokyo. They gave it 4 stars. They said the table being bussed, the pretty plates and fried shrimp pumpkin whatever is why they liked it so much. Well when you review a Japaneses restaurant it is a good idea to actually eat sushi! I went there last Saturday. It was horrible. The tables have to be constantly bussed because they are so fricken small you barely have room for a saki shot glass. The HyVee food court has more ambience (and bigger tables). As for the service; they seated us and we sat and sat and sat. I told my friends “I bet they make us sit here because they want to take our entire order at one time.” Sure enough, the waitress greeted us (w/o ice water) and she wanted our drink order, our app order and our dinner order all at one time. I looked at her and said “We will order drinks and then we will order our food after we get our drinks.” This tactic is used by places like AppleBees, it is a table turning tactic. Sorry I like to have a beverage or two before I eat. I felt like I was at the Mickey D’s drive thru. But let’s move onto the food. The tuna (sushi) was obviously thawed out. The secret of sushi is fresh fish. Then we got some weird fried roll that had nacho cheese sauce (7-Eleven style) poured over it. My one friend was polite and told them we did not like it and were not going to eat it. Then another waitress came up and asked if they could box it and I finally said “You do not understand, it doesn’t taste good, we do not want it and don’t want to pay for it.” She said she had to talk to her Manager. They took it off the bill.
If you like noisy, tiny tabled restaurants that serve tempura, this is the place for you. Otherwise, yuck!
