My View

Some of you have been wondering why I haven’t posted any new work lately, well it’s not that I’m not working on anything. My secret themed exhibit is going well. I have three paintings done and have started on the 4th.

I am still doing commission work though and might have an exciting project coming up, that I will graciously share with all of you.

Sorry, the liberal media does not exist in Sioux Falls or South Dakota for that matter. Sure there are a few left-leaning reporters at our daily paper, but they are hardly a liberal rag. They constantly cave to money and the conservatives.

The forums are mostly made up of vitriolic neo-cons that spew more lies and hate then one can stand, and when you give them a little taste of their own medicine they cry to the moderator and have you booted off.

Good riddance.

Their only gun for hire editorial cartoonist is misinformed at best, and has no real grasp of issues facing South Dakota. He is a blind conservative, because the Bible tells him to be one. He likes to draw dogs and rocks.

But the grand daddy of them all is the secret magazine they distribute to ONLY the richest households in Sioux Falls. That’s right, our local newspaper distributes a high society magazine to approximately 7,000 residences in SF. That means only about 5% of the community is getting this magazine. No big deal, if you are in that kind of business, but isn’t it a bit hypocritical of a news organization that says it files lawsuits against the state because it is concerned about the rights of the ‘people’?

Just what ‘people’ are they talking about? It sure as F‘CK isn’t me.

I’m not saying I’m for or against hiring new police officers. I guess if the need is there, it is a no-brainer, hire more and don’t worry about the funding. Isn’t public safety one of our number one concerns as taxpayers?

What makes Munson’s veto so ironic is his lame excuse that the money isn’t there. Really, last I checked we are throwing away half a million on pretty new windows for the Pavilion so we can save $19,000 a year in energy costs (a fictitious number).

Sure the city should take care of the property it owns, but if you do a quick inspection of the Pavilion’s exterior, you will see less then 10 windows have been boarded up.

Doesn’t it seem we should fix what we need to and spend the rest of that money on public safety?

Our Mayor and City council need to get a clue.

I really can’t figure it out, but I have been saying the WashPav is poorly managed and NO ONE at city hall wants to do anything about it. This is prime example of all the red tape that exists at the Pavilion. I received this in the mail today, no big deal, I was on their mailing list, until recently – I thought. I had asked David Merhib, VAC director to take me off of the Pavilion’s mailing list, a couple of months later, Steve Hoffman, the director assured me that I wasn’t on it anymore, so now, this is where we are at, back on the list. You would think if the Ex. Dir. told the mailing list people to remove me, it would be done. Guess not. When is SF going to wake up and realize this place needs to be taken over by a new management company, one that is interested in bringing in diverse entertainment AND saving the taxpayer’s money? Good Question.
