Jesse won the final competition for King of the Blues in SF and moves onto regionals in MPLS on the 18th. Wish him luck. Oh, and BTW, you can see him this Friday and Saturday at the Touch of Europe.

They just get weirder as I look at it more. I think the bottom piece was stolen from my porch.

The Cramps
‘Bad Music for Bad People’

This is probably the Cramps best Album.  Produced by them and classic rocker, Alex Chilton.

If you have never heard of the Cramps, I’ll give you a rundown; Goth/Rockabilly. Think Sixteen Horsepower meets the Reverend Horton Heat or Nick Cave singing lead in Hank III’s band. It is no secret the Rev is heavily influenced by the Cramps, hell, he told me so when I was playing pool with him after one of his gigs. He said “I thought I was pretty f’ing cool because I was in a Rockabilly band in high school, and my punk rock friends said, you gotta check out this band, the Cramps, and they took me to a concert. My music and life changed after that show.”

I have been browsing their website and looking at some of their featured artists. Like most contemporary art, a lot of it is kinda boring, but these images were cool. The guy riding the sea shell is pretty awesome, that is dyed fabric. Kinda reminds me of a comforter from KMART.

It should hit the top of cigarette machines this weekend. Here’s a sneak peak:
