H/T Andy.
This is supposed to be the premier contemporary art school right now. A lot of recycling, but still intriguing just the same.

Hey Jazz and Blues Fans!
We hope you are able to go out and enjoy the spring weather and some great jazz during Jazz Appreciation Month! Here is what’s happening in the Sioux Falls community in the month of April.
Muldaur to Perform Soulful Finale for Jazz & Blues Series
WHO: Maria Muldaur
WHEN: Friday, April 13, 2007 at 8:00pm
WHERE: Sioux Falls Historical Orpheum Theater
TICKETS: $22-$35. Call the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society at 605-335-6101 or purchase tickets online at www.sfjb.org. Student rush tickets are available one half-hour before the show for $12 with a valid student ID.
The final show of the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society’s concert series highlights the incomparable Maria Muldaur who is slated to perform at the Historic Orpheum Theater on April 13, 2007. Within one’s lifetime, there will only be a few rare vocalists who hit the peak of success, remain there for decades, and produce works that last eternally. Maria Muldaur is such an artist. Her work is not only eternal, but so are the classic forms she interprets, from folk to jug band, jazz to blues.
Muldaur’s newest release is entitled “Heart of Mine: The Love Songs of Bob Dylan.” Here is what the Philadelphia Daily News says of the album:
“M.M. wraps her languid, liquidy, sleepy-time-down-South pipes around Mr. D’s most quaint, countrified testimonials…The lady never pumps it up faster than the mid-tempo shuffles ‘To Be Alone With You’ and ‘Moonlight,’ but that just makes this a set that you can enjoy and exploit in all kinds of emotional weather.”
Single tickets for this concert are available for $35-$22 each. Student rush tickets are available one half-hour before show time with valid student I.D. for $12.
Call the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society Box Office at 605.335.6101 or buy tickets online at www.sfjb.org.

I hope this one prints – because it’s just dumb. I actually enjoy making fun of our elected offcials, especially the city council. Ever since I did the OUTSIDER cartoon of them last year, none of them respond to my emails. I get a kick out of all of them. Deep down I really like Kermit, he is kinda the pot stirrer. General Jamison makes me laugh to, he thinks he’s commanding an army instead of a city. Kavanaugh is pretty funny to. He’s always saying cliches when they quote him in the paper. He always talks big then backs down later. Then there is De, or as I call her the chief babbler, and who can forget Bob Litz, Mr. No Opinion and Vernon Brown, Mr. Study Group (I swear he must have worked at L & S or something?). I had submitted a letter about the Drake Spring pool issue, but had them pull it, because I really don’t care (I don’t know how to swim). BUT, I thought my idea was funny.

I’ll get on the payroll one of these days at the Angus. The toon appeared in the VOICES section and the Picture in the LINK today. I like how they are putting my toons above National columnists and Guest writer columns. I sent in another Cartoon/editorial 2 days ago. Wish me luck, it’s a doozy. I’ll keep from posting it because I don’t want to give anyone a ‘Leg Up’ so to speak.

Jesse won the first round of Guitar Center’s KING OF THE BLUES competition. He now will go up against the 2 runner-ups and the winner of last week’s competition. The best one out of those 4 will be picked to go on to the regional competition in MPLS.
I have always said Jesse is the best guitarist in Sioux Falls, especially Blues and R & R. I think he took the right approach, no playing behind the head, no weird pedals or slide, just a Strat (though I think he should have played his Les Paul).
Wish him luck – NEXT Tuesday, April 3, 5 PM Guitar Center

I have been experimenting with settings on my new digital camera. Some of these photo’s really turned out pretty funky. I cropped and sized them in Photoshop, and played with the hue and contrast a little bit, but the actual images and ghosting was the result of the camera settings.
Obviously, some of the photos are just normal settings.
